HISTORY
The The Katihar District Central Co-operative Bank was registered under Bihar & Orissa co-operative Societies Act. 1935 bearing registration number 4 Hd.Qr. of 1980 on 27.12.1980.
Bank commenced its banking operation on the same day. License for operation of the bank was granted by Reserve Bank of India vide letter no. RPCD/DCCB/PAT -26/2012-13 on 08th November 2012 under section 22 of the BR Act 1949 (AACS).
The area of operation of bank covered Katihar District of Bihar State all together 238 PACS (Primary Agriculture Credit Co-operative Societies) and 12 V.M.S.S are affiliated with the bank. Apart from PACS there are various other spl. Type Co-operative Societies like fishermen societies and weavers societies are also affiliated with it.
ADMINISTRATION
The bank is managed by the elected Board of Directors, which consist of 10 members representing different types of societies affiliated with the bank. The Board has constituted various sub-committees for transacting different types of business. The bank’s Chairman and vice-Chairman are elected by the Board. The Chief Executive Officer of the bank is also member of the Board.
The present Chairman of bank is Smt Shahin Kalam . Under his dynamic leadership the management of the bank has been more transparent. In economic liberalization, the banking scenario has changed a lot and competition has become more severe. Under these circumstances, our chairman is successful in leading the bank to a commendable position by his dynamic leadership and fore sightedness.
ADVANCES
The KDCCB Bank is a vibrant bank of the Katihar District. To enhance the business of the Bank it has started Non-Farm advances. The products in the basket for Non-Farm are Loan for two wheeler vehicles, Loans for vehicles, Loans for rented vehicle loans, Loan for Consumer Durable goods, Housing Loan, Security Loan, Higher Education Loan, H.P.C.C Loan, Personal Loan, Traders over draft, Gold Loan, , Self Help Group, Cash credit working capital/Term Loan.
AGRICULTURE
The various Schemes of State/Central Government and NABARD such as Paddy and Wheat procurement ,Kisan Credit Card, Self Help Group, Joint Liability Group, Farmers Club, Crop Insurance, Group Insurance, Rural Group Accident etc. are implemented by the bank. The bank is always trying to help in the all round progress of the farmers under its area of operation. The bank has implemented Vaidyanathan Committee recommendations.
